You are your On-the-Day Coordinator’s number one priority
When providing wedding day management, you are our entire focus for the day. Our priority is to make sure that you are happy and having the best time possible. It’s simple things like, fetching you a glass of water immediately after you come out of your ceremony, or making sure you are topped up with drinks and canapes whilst you are having couple portraits with your photographer. I can walk behind you carrying your veil, so it doesn’t catch on the gravel, or I can be dispatched with a message to a member of your wedding party. Your wedding coordinator is your personal wedding PA for the day.
Your venue can focus on delivering their service
As your On-the-Day Coordinator will be entirely focused on you, this frees up time for the venue’s coordinator so that they can focus on delivering the best service possible from the venue. We effectively split the job list. So for example, I might be front of house ensuring guests are happy and that the welcome drinks are flowing nicely; whereas the venue coordinator might be behind the scenes checking in with catering to make sure that your wedding breakfast service will be on time. We can both focus on what we know best. Me = you, the venue coordinator = the venue.

A friendly face
It’s a double edged sword. If you have chosen a popular wedding venue, then they will be well rehearsed and will be able to deliver a seamless wedding. However, venues which have a large volume of weddings often will not assign you your wedding coordinator until a few weeks out from your date. This is because they will need to do the staff rota. You may meet the majority of the coordination team on your various venue visits, but you won’t know who will be responsible for your day. For some couples this can be nerve wracking as your wedding coordinator is one of the suppliers who you will engage with the most during your wedding – so it is important that you vibe! When you hire an On-the-Day Wedding Coordinator to manage your wedding, you will have several phone calls and meetings during your planning. This means that, come the big day, you should be comfortable with their presence and trust them to deliver the wedding of your dreams. From a Coordinators perspective, you are our number one priority and we will have taken the time to learn about you and gone through your wedding day with a fine toothcomb. We are fully invested in you.
Many hands make light work
The Oak and Opal team are always ‘branded up’ this means we are easy for your guests to pick out as members of staff. Why is this important? Well, happy guests means happy wedding and the sooner any queries are answered, the sooner your guests can get back to enjoying your wedding. Having an extra staff member who is visible and approachable will make your guests feel more relaxed and looked after. Similarly, your On-the-Day Coordinator will help see in your other suppliers and make sure they are happy and settled. We can be a go-between for your suppliers and the venue, solving problems and getting answers to questions. Therefore, everyone can focus on the job they need to do without wasting time trying to find people.
Overall, your venue coordinator and your On-the-Day Coordinator will work together as your wedding dream team, reducing worry and stress and ensuring that your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible.
